Congratulations to Porsche re WEC Silverstone

Great news
Now looking forward to watching the 919 competing for another victory at Le Mans  :thumb:

Shame that Brendon Hartley in the No.1 leading Porsche managed to take himself and an Am 911 out of the race. Looked like he turned in too aggressively when he hadn't quite passed the 911. Not good. How that car managed not to go over on its roof I don't know... It was on YouTube within minutes of the accident, for the curious.

That was the job of the 'dorsal fin' on the rear bodywork, which seems to have saved the car from a huge multiple barrel roll. Scary looking crash either way.

Audi have appealed so the result is down to a tribunal decision, apparently...

Hey, why bother with a podium and trophy session at the end of a race if later scrutineering and appeals can change it all at a later date?

I do think they should be able the finalise the result before handing out the pots!

He's posted a very sincere apology on Facebook. Some folk blamed the 991 for moving across but if he's in front, its his right to do that - the P1 car has to finds its own way round.

Chris.
