More about the driver than the car ..... And all the electronic assistance

Some racing is dismal now

Merc was based on a 190 2.5 16v or 2.3 in the early days then became an Evo

I've just watched the Senna clip, great vid, also this morning the 700 bhp 997 turbo at the ring, and now the '90s DTM. Cars and motorsport these days have so gone the wrong way. Bring back manual everything, car manufacturers note, for each new model of sports car, have a "classic" edition, with a manual box, lights and wipers, lsd, grippy tyres, adjustable suspension, and few frills etc etc. Much more like it. :D

Loved watching DTM. Favourite drivers were
Bernd Schneider & Uwe Alzen, neither drove BMWs IIRC.

The British touring car series was also good back then. Most of the big manufacturers doing battle and even a volvo estate being thrashed around the track!
