Hi guys, I have decided to sell my 997GT3RS. The car is rather unique and has been upgraded with the following:

-Kessels 458bhp 3.8l conversion with VGS-Motorsport management upgrade (only covered 2913miles).
-Akrapovic Full Titanium exhaust (Manifolds, 100cell cats and back box).
-Cup 9:35 diff.
-Cup Airbox 2010.
-Cup PAS system.
-Cup splitter.
-CUP OMP steering wheel.
-BBS 19's.
-H&R Suspension.
-Carbon Kevlar wings/doors/bonnet/door cards/strut brace.
-Clubsport Carbon seats, OMP harness.
-Gen II 3.8l Carbon rear wing and engine cover.
-Clubsport rollcage with front extension.
-Cargraphic lightweight carpet set (minus 17.5kg).
-Weighs approx. 1250kg and 458BHP

The car is in outstanding condition. To all intents and purposes it is basically now a 3.8l however it runs passive H&R coilovers, features carbon/kevlar lightweight components, approx 120kg lighter than a stock car with around 43BHP more and a shorter ratio gearbox.
I started a thread about the car a while back so for further detail this may be of some assistance:

Car has just been serviced and is now being prepped for sale. Any viewing or inspection welcome.

To arrange a viewing and discuss the car in more detail, the easiest way would be to fly from London-Stansted to Frankfurt-Hahn via Ryanair for about £20. I will then collect and provide hotel accommodation at no cost. There are 2 flights per day morning and night.

I have 100's of photos and documents relating to the car available upon request. If you require any further info please contact me by PM or phone: 0044 743 8642 996.

Glad you like it Stuart :thumb: it delivers in a way I have never experienced before and will likely never come across again. I would say that though
Just such a shame the Mrs doesn't quite see it the way we do :hand:

Hopefully it is priced fairly in todays market???

To buy a stock RS around is around £150,000 and do this to one would be putting you into 4.0RS sort of money. I appreciate molested cars are not always appreciated in the UK but this has really been done by the best in the business with the most high quality parts available. The car also retains the stock look of a Gen II and also the same reliability if not better, due to the reduced mass.
The new owner will not be disappointed :)

Sorry guys, been pointed out by a few that a price was missing from ad. Price is £130,000 ONO. This makes it the cheapest 7.1RS currently for sale by some margin. Any advice on what price I should be selling for??? It is so tricky to judge the market right now for instance a purple 964 C2 has just come to market for £105,000. So only £25k more for this seems ridiculous to me :dont know:

I have now collected the car from service and it is now ready for viewing.
Also if required delivery can be arranged to the UK or alternatively ear defenders for the drive home

kind regards
Richard

This really is a rather difficult question to answer. At issue is that the buyers fuelling the recent price increases are not for the most part showing up at racing circuits to drive them. Which ought to be a crime, but isn't. As such you have to assume that the premium commodity is not so much an improved and enhanced car so much as an original one. To the right buyer your car is surely worth every penny of the asking price, but there is a concern that most who might consider it will be looking at what it would cost to return to stock (particularly an issue with the engine upgrades) :paperbag:

Good luck with the sale, but I cannot help but think that the best return will be found by waiting until the start of next years track season in spring to maximise the chance of finding a buyer who wants to drive it rather than look at it and tell their friends about it instead...

The purple 964 was someones idea of a weird infantile joke...

I think you have to be realistic on price as the mods narrow the market quite a bit. Probably the case when you bought it too? Great car for a track junkie! GLWS

Fully concur with what you are saying Disco and thanks for taking the time to impart your feelings on the matter :thumb: Was speaking to Steve Rance the other week and he mentioned returning the car to stock. I understand from an economic point of view, but surely this is committing a heinous crime to revert back to stock. I could fully understand a car which has been splattered with Halfords offerings but this car has been improved immeasurably in every sense with parts that supersede what Porsche delivered. It handles better looks better goes better sounds better... Had Porsche themselves made this car it would have been revered far and wide.

The engine has been built by a Porsche Race engine Specialist using only Porsche stock parts, and remapped by VGS Motorsport (who do all of Manthey's trick work if I'm not mistaken).

When the engine was done a new stage 2 clutch was fitted and I have only driven the car home from being serviced since so the car wants for nothing. It will provide expense free motoring for some time to come; perhaps only the front brakes in a few 1000 miles but that's it.

Sorry to here your selling so soon. It will sell but modded cars in the UK just seam to hang around for a while till the right buyer comes along. There have been 2 modded car lately in the classifieds a black RS and a 3.9 GT3 that I've seen both of which seem to be sold but took a while. Do you have the car up for sale on German sites aswell? Do they have the same hang ups as the UK market on modded cars?

Jon

TBH perfectly honest Jon, I do not want to sell the car. Hence why I only have it up here for sale. Basically the Mrs doesn't find it very amusing that I have a toy that could pay off one of the mortgages if I sold the car. I have told her I have it up for sale so if it takes 2 years all the better for me
I didn't really want to open it up to the masses as I hoped a like minded enthusiast would just jump all over it and we could discuss all the particulars on the same wave-length. Obviously I would also tie the new buyer into a 'offer me the first refusal if they ever sell it clause'

The German Gen 1 RS market is also a bit crazy at the moment with them from €160,000 - €330,000, which is pretty similar to the UK market. Over here if a car is modded correctly it can add value as the paperwork to get it registered is very expensive and tricky to do. With the RS's I'm not sure if mods add value as again the polishers/beards/collectors don't quite see things the same.

Best thing would be to drive a standard car and this car back to back. Then you would have a full appreciation of just how good the RS can be made to be.

In answer to a few questions here are few more details about the car:
