Sorry to hear that, I've been following this thread for ideas and inspiration...

Many thanks for the advice Stuart, I now have a very simple ad up linking to here for the finer details ;)

Still not a single person actually come to see the car. Someone was coming from France to buy the car this Friday but has just told me he bought a 997.2GT3RS yesterday.
Means I get to do a little more of this for the foreseeable future :D

I have just reviewed all the Gen1 RS's currently for sale on PH (8 currently) and prices are as follows:

£120k
£150K
£152.5K
3x £160K
£250K
£POA

Still seems to be quite a spread of prices and ignoring the 2 extremes it appears about £155k is the average. Anyone have any insider knowledge that would be helpful in establishing a price for my car?
In the meantime and as a special winter offer to 911UK members, I will knock something off my advertised price and will buy new front discs and front CUP splitter for the lucky buyer :)

Its very tough to value as it really needs the right buyer, i dont think you can compare it too easily to others on the market.

125 to the right buyer seems value but your market is pretty narrow. If you want to sell it fast then its going to have to look like enough of a steal for someone who may not need it to take a punt. If you dont then just sit tight where you are and wait for the early spring to get people motivated.
You were that buyer once, so what motivated you to buy is probaly the same for the next potential owner.

Thats my take on it..

Further evidence to never get married! Beautiful car.

Looks and sounds like a cracking car; could be a real bargain for someone.

Re selling, I think your lack of interest stems from the fact that it is not a standard car anymore. Modified cars are nearly always harder to sell and you never get back anything like what you put into them. It doesn't matter how subtle or 'good' the mods/improvements are, its been changed from the original factory spec and unfortunately that's not what the vast majority of prospective buyers(collectors?) want.

I'd keep it for a while and get some enjoyment out of what you've spent your time and money creating. :)

+1...methinks that's pretty sound advice.

Cheers guys :thumb: I know the value of mods will never be recovered, and it could never be expected with this car ( I have two invoices alone that come in at 103K within the last 2 years).
I really would keep this car forever if it was solely down to my discretion. I have sort of agreed to a compromise solution hence the 996 project which should at least be a little consolation for when the 997 goes.

The season is upon us so inviting offers ;)
No px thanks ;)

Damn and I have a cracking Purple Nissan Micra convertible that I was willing to swap!

Purple you say; I may just have to reconsider ;)

Just a thought guys, I've received an email regarding buying parts off the car; now as much as it would pain me to split the most developed and perfect RS, returning to stock may make sense.
From memory my original post here lists all the fitted parts and I would basically need stock parts in return where applicable, but in principle would there be any interest in the parts from you guys. I'll start a seperate thread listing the parts if there is enough demand to justify this. Obviously Carrera White would be preferred for body panels, black wheels...
Your thoughts would be much appreciated ;)

My thoughts, since you are asking. I wouldn't bother getting it back to a stock car. I dont think you can get back there completely and at the end of the day as much as some people only want a standard car there's less that want a done, undone, and re done car than would want it modded I reckon.

I think if you seriously want to sell then get it into a dealer that can "vouch" for it as is and add a bit of safety for a potential buyer. jzm or the likes of them where you are. Hanging out in the backwaters of 911uk isn't going to get you the marketing clout you need. This is a forum post, not even a classifieds ad? As much as its an enthusiasts car and we are by definition enthusiastic there just are enough looky loos on here to get the job done unless you have a standard 993 :floor:

Either that or i'll make you a silly offer :D

Last time we spoke, I believe you said the car wasn't advertised in Germany, is that still the case?
Trying to sell a lefty which is modded in the UK is always going to be tuff, without going through a specialist broker as Dan has suggested. If you really won't rid you would probably have a better chance I your home market.

Thanks Senoj, fully concur with your thoughts and as already mentioned, it would be a terrible shame to convert back to stock. Engine, gearbox, CUP steering system and ECU would stay as don't need the hassle of non-matching numbers and verification of mileage etc. That would leave something like the following being available:

-Full Akrapovic Titanium exhaust (manifolds, cats, silencers, tips...)
-Carbon doors
-Carbon Door cards
-Carbon wings
-Carbon Bonnet
-Front cage extension
-Lightweight carpet set
-Porsche 997.2RS Genuine rear wing and engine cover
-H&R coilovers
-BBS alloys
-CUP motorsport Airbox
-CUP steering wheel
-OMP Harnesses
-Carbon Strut brace front

I have spoke to JZM but they do not want LHD or modded cars. So as I can't covert it to a stock 993  that leaves me to take your silly offer ;) You never know, you may just be lucky.
As it currently stands the best offer I had was in November for 170K euro but I turned it down (truth be told I don't think I had the heart to sell it at the time). But now I really have no choice and since then have had various offers:

996GT2 + cash
996GT3RS straight swap
997.1GT3 + cash
Mac MP4-12C PX
150Keuro last week

The last offer is the best option for me right now as I don't need the hassle of selling another car.
So effectively, although the mods alone amount to pretty much the last offer I have had, this is where I stand right now. So if I was offered €150,000.01 euro now it would be the highest current bid

I could probably sell the parts above separately for £18-20K which would enable a little wiggle room in terms of price movement; it would however, just feel so wrong, to reverse what is so right though :nooo:
