Messages in outbox - why?

Hi,
tried to send 4/5 PM's to the same person last night.
They are all stuck in my outbox.

What's that all about?
 
They move when they have been read.

That is correct. However, there is another situation where I have two mails sitting in my outbox after they were read. they were in sent box and then appeared again in outbox. I deleted them from outbox, they re-appeared!

No idea why.
