It looks like the 963 has finally made it in the WEC Hypercar class.

After a difficult first season, last year, a fantastic performance in the first round of the 2024 WEC (the1812 kms at Qatar) gave Porsche a 1-2-3.

To cap off a fantastic day for Porsche the first ever GT3LeMans class race was also won by the Manthey Pure RX 911.

That is really a fantastic return to form. Total domination based on that race.

fantastic result

A far cry from F1 where close racing and overtakes are rare.

After nearly 10 hours and 335 laps second, third and fourth were covered by just a few seconds.

The speed differential between the Hypercars and the LMGT3s is massive so watching the fast cars weaving their way past the slower is awesome. I never had any interest in the LMP2 cars so don't miss them at all. Just having 2 classes makes following what's happening a whole lot easier.

fantastic racing

so happy that Jota was in the mix

Round 2 at Imola starts at noon. Coverage on Eurosport2 from 11.30.

Ferraris start 1.2.3 so the Tifosi will be on cloud 9. Porsches start 4th and 5th. Manthey on pole in GT3s.

Think that was a pretty decent result for Porsche yesterday.
Two cars in the Top 5 is not bad at all.

Ferrari fell apart when the weather changed, which was quite amusing

Porsche strategy kept them in contention despite not having the pace seen in Qatar due to BOP changes, favouring Ferrari and Toyota. Jota and Proton cars never really in the hunt for a decent result

Manthey threw away the win in GT with a bad call on a wet tyre change, but still on the podium
