OS brake light out - help!

Hope someone can help...

My OS brake light has stopped working.

Fuse, bulb - all fine.

Bulb holder connections cleaned.

And my test light probe confirmed power at the socket.

What next?

Surely the brake switch at the pedal must be OK as the NS and 3rd brake lights are working fine.

Could it be a dodgy ground connection? If so, how to chase this down?

Cleaned the connecters in the bulb holder with my Dremel, and raised the spring load of the terminals...but still no joy.

So tried swapping over the bulb holders and that seems to be the problem!

It worked.

Which means the OS bulb holder has failed.

Part is a Hella PA6-GF30.

Any know a good source of these? Not obvious where to buy them from...

Does it look like this? One for sale on eBay Just enter part number and it should appear.

Almost! But note quite the same connectors / terminals.

I would have thought these were ten-a-penny but am struggling...!

Part no is 701-953-123-A, it looks to be out of stock/no longer available everywhere.

Perhaps post in the parts wanted page, otherwise keep an eye on eBay for low priced faded or cracked light fittings as the sockets may be included.

Only other thing I can suggest is to update the loom with new connectors for the new style socket, but that's a bit extreme.

Damn - missed that. But looks like eBay will be the answer. Eyes peeled...
