No Sound From Rear Speakers

Hi I wonder if anyone knows the likely cause of this issue?

The car is a C4S 2002 (52) Coupe. It has the CDR23 head unit along with the Becker BE6600 amp (996.645.331.01).

For some reason there is no sound coming out of the rear speakers (the speakers are there I've taken one out to check!). I've checked the fader settings and when I set it to fully fade to the rear all I get is the bass out of the front door pocket speakers but nothing out of the rears at all. I believe mine is a non MOST system.

The head unit seems to operate ok - the balance L/R function works fine and I've checked the connections into the amp which all seem secure.

I've searched this site and cant find anything specific.

Any ideas as to the likely cause from anyone would be much appreciated!
(and I hope you're not going to say new amp because they're £££'s!)

Thanks in advance
