Hi

Looking for some info on new number plate size

I have a 6 digit plate I would like to use on my 996

My car has a 17" wide front plinth already fitted so I am thinking 18" plate, would that be legal?

Also what's best size for rear plate just the standard 520mm?

Best place to buy from?

Cheers :thumb:

If you've a six digit plate. You can get a short plinth plate

It's a 997 item actually so it might need some 'adjusting' !! I fitted one but to the bottom of the bumper Ferrari California style?!

I've used 4dot to get all of my shortened plates. Excellent quality and can produce pretty much produce anything you need while keeping it legal. They also provide a certificate to show to the boys in blue.....

Demon Plates made me a shorter plate for my 997, you have to ring them to specify the size though. I ordered a front plate to match the length of the plinth ... looks so much better IMO.

I have 5 digit cut plate, not using the plinth direct fit to the bumper

Shorter Sticker plate with no plinth is the answer.

Make sure sticker is reflective and carries all legal markings/ correct font size etc. You'll have no bother at MoT.

They're really easy to fit.

(Before people start questioning legality of sticker plate, it's actually compliance to the BS rigidity requirements that is questionable, not compliance to the MoT rules)

I have been using PFC pates for cars https://www.platesforcars.co.uk/

Delivery was 2 working days.

I find the best looking size for the 996 is
Front 457 x 111 mm
Rear 520 x 140 mm

Both these sizes are good for a 7 digit plate
