Hi All
A question for the motorsport illuminati. A friend back in Aus has shared pics of a 1970s 911 that has been modified to look like a 993 GT2at the front, can't recall what the rear looks like, can on assume g series with a GT2 rear wing in bright green.
The story that my mate was told was that the car was a gift from Porsche to the winners in 1970 or 71 at Le Mans.
Does this sound right to anyone? Or is this a bullshitto storyline? I've had a good search on the Web, but have come up with nothing.

TIA

1970 was the start of the 917 era at LeMans with Porsche breaking what was by then the Ford GT40 winning run

Le Mans prize money was never huge as it was more about prestige
