2005 997 C2s - I'm wondering about removing the bose system and going over to a standalone head unit with Carplay.

As such the nav DVD drive, Cd changer and phone module would all redundant. Obviously the only final part the head unit would be replaced as well!

Does anybody have a wiring diagram/removed the bose system and run a separate HU and potentially a secondary amp?

Is the Bose part of your current set up not working? You can get a new head unit and a MOST adapter which allows you to continue to use the optical connection used by existing Bose connections.

I'd describe it as walking wounded.

Nav has lost the antenna connection since windscreen replacement (probably easy to sort), CD Changer seems to run slow - sounds like of digital jitter and wrong speed, head unit gets very warm. All speakers work fine still.

Maybe another option is to keep the amp/speakers and ditch the dvd/cd boxes and figure out how to "cap off" with a MOST Bridge box if there is such a thing.

You would just need something like this:

Can be had cheaper on Ali Express - search for Porsche MOST adaptor

And you'll need something like this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/18554333...uid=GA0Bq5WOSD-&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Which can come with the MOST adaptor, CAN BUS adaptor and head unit all in one. Saves all the pain of pulling out all the BOSE setup.
If you remove the CD Changer or anything else in the loop, to keep the signal looped correctly.

Then you can pick your head unit... You can get CANBUS adaptors with steering wheel controls etc.

You can also get something like:
