Hi Everyone,
As part of my PCCM Plus install I've deleted my DVD Nav unit. I've been posting over on rennlist, but I thought this may be of interest and got lost in the large install thread.

I essentially made a cover with a piece of galvanised metal sheet. Forming tangs which riveted in alignment with the position of the hooks on the original mount for the DVD unit. I then covered the tangs with shrink wrap cable insulation and covered with carpet and foam for a snug fit. Riveting extinguisher mount optional :)

I put a small rectangle of car mat in the gap the corner of the hardboard floor. I then fitted a full size mat over the top. Looks like the nav unit was never there now.

Cheers.

Excellent job :thumb:

I assume this is where the Nav DVD is mounted in the front boot on the bulkhead side?

All my CD changer and Nav DVD gubbins was in the compartment in front of the battery? Is there some different positions?

Either way, excellent work!

Yip, this is what is used to look like. I think it depends whether the car is 4wd if it's in the boot space versus the compartment. In an ideal world I'd have liked to get it completely flush, but the bracket sits proud of the carpet, so that wouldn't be achievable without removing the bracket (which I didn't want to do). It sticks out a few mil, with extinguisher and oil bottle Velcro'd it's pretty missable. My cabin luggage fits perfectly now!
