So my journey of a more drivers focussed perfect 996 C4S continues.....

To recap for those not familiar I wanted the looks of the C4S with the drive of something that might be akin to a GTS of it's day however its getting more outlaw than GTS these days! (I purchased a low mileage midnight blue over grey example from an OPC in 2018)

Previous Work Done:
- c.100kg weight reduction (see below plus lithium, hollow spokes etc)
- 2WD Conversion
- Engine protection - deep sump X51 + LTT
- Engine - 200cel gutted OEM cats + some tweaking
- Suspension - Ohlins RT, Bolt in Cage, RSS
- Brakes - lines, RS29, discs, caliper rebuild and refinish all round
- Vanity - colour coded hard backs, alcantara bits, Prototipo, steel kick plates, various colour coding and bits

New Work:
- Fitting Diff.....easier said than done

Opted for a quaife diff. Whilst in there check the IMS (original), probably throw in a new OEM clutch and also replace the IMS and RMS seals. IMS perfect so not replacing just removing cap/cover to make it oil fed (as Hartech recommend)

This all sounded pretty straightforward until I learnt that as my car is a later car 2004MY the driveshafts were of a different design to the earlier cars!!

The necessitated getting some taper bearings, joint flanges and a bit of custom machining to get it all in.

NOTHING on the Quaife website about all this and certainly the first I had heard about different driveshafts on the model years. It was news to Ken at 9e who did the work, needless to say he wasn't that impressed at Quaife as he had already got the diff in by the time all this came to light. Ken has been super patient with the whole thing.

I pick it up tomorrow so I can't wait for a first drive.

Any reason why you went quaife? If I upgrade mine I was thinking of Wavetrac, I know guards appear to be the benchmark mind.

Mainly due to the fit and forget nature of the quaife. They don't need any rebuilding/maintenance etc vs the plated style diffs in GT3's and as I understand it the Wavetrac also. It was also recommend by Ken at 9e as he had other customers rating them highly so I agreed. As I didn't need the last 10% of track performance it seemed appropriate for a mainly road orientated car.
